Lamplighter

Greetings in the name of our Triune God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We are in the church season of Trinity and the paraments are green for growing. Let’s grow in God’s love and light.

The Lamplighter in the summer is a combined July and August message. If anything comes up that’s different, we will send out an email blast and a call. During the summer, we are having one Worship Service at 9:30 AM. Bible Study is at 8:30 AM in Koepchen Fellowship Hall. We are so blessed and so thankful for Pastor Dennis Rockett.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Summertime is a special time of warmth (sometimes sweltering, humid heat!) with beautiful evenings with magnificent sunsets. The morning dawn breaks with amazing sunshine. The summer is full of light from dawn to dusk. Isn’t that light wonderful? Our best light, however, in the entire world, is Jesus, our Savior and our best Friend. Jesus tells us in John 8:12 that He is the Light of the World. God sent us His Son, that Glorious Light to be our Redeemer, our Light, along with the Holy Spirit, Light Divine, our Counselor, our Advocate, our Guide. That Light helps us not to stumble through the darkness of sin. When one compares the summer light of the dark of winter it’s a beautiful gift of guidance, hope and comfort. Jesus is our Sonshine! Sitting outside too long in the sun can be dangerous and suntan lotion with SPF is advised. SPF is most helpful. “S” could be our Savior. “P” could be God’s peace, the peace that passes all understanding. And, “F” for faith—faith in God’s love and promises. Remember your SPF this summer. Hold on to God’s love and remember He will never leave or let you go.

A special hymn for remembering God’s light is “Shine, Jesus, Shine”.

God promised us in Isaiah 9:12, “The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness a light will shine.” This light is Jesus. Let’s shine for Him! God bless your summer.

St. Paul’s joyfully announces that Dennis Bujas and John Nicolai are officially members of St. Paul’s. We will be publicly welcoming them at a worship service on Sunday, July 27, 2025. We will also recognize the new 2025 Church Council and Board members with an Installation Service that morning.

We also joyfully announce that Charles Nicholas Schneider was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Westwood, New Jersey on June 8, 2025. We thank Pastor Thomas Pranschke for instructing him and confirming him in his faith. God bless our new members.

Please come to St. Paul’s. We need you! We are still moving forward with Christ as our Leader. Come and worship with us.

Let there be light!

Peace, Blessings, Love and Light,

                Shine, Jesus, Shine

Lord, the light of Your love is shining,

In the midst of the darkness shining:

Jesus, Light of the world, Shine upon us;

Set us free from the truth You now bring us;

Shine on me. Shine on me.

Refrain:

Shine, Jesus, Shine,

Fill this land with the Father’s glory;

Blaze, Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire.

Flow, river, flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy,

Send forth Your Word, Lord, and let there be light.

Lord, I come to Your awesome presence,

From the shadows into Your radiance;

By Your blood I may enter Your brightness:        Search me, try me, consume all my darkness; Shine on me. Shine on me. Refrain.

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness

So our faces display Your likeness,

Ever changing from glory to glory:

Mirrored here, may our lives tell Your story;

Shine on me. Shine on me. Refrain.

Love in Christ, Your Elders,

Donna Munsch, Head Elder

Saint Paul's Activities Calendar

1 Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. 2 Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! 3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. 4 For the word of the LORD is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness.

Psalm 33:1 – 4
