Happy May! What a beautiful month as we are in the Easter season. We are raised to life with Jesus Christ. We celebrated Jesus’ resurrection by putting our flowers on the Easter cross, replacing our sin flags. What a glorious, wonderful celebration. Rejoice! Jesus Christ is alive! Our Redeemer lives! He is risen indeed, and we certainly love to proclaim that at St. Paul’s. Let that thought start your days this month.
Dear Friends in the Risen Lord,
We are so blessed to have Pastor Dennis Rockett at St. Paul’s celebrating Holy Communion three Sundays a month. Please join us as we worship together every Sunday.
There are many things to celebrate this month. We’re still worshipping together at St. Paul’s, moving forward with Christ as our Leader. We celebrate Holy Communion three Sundays a month. Once again, thanks to Pastor Rockett and to our loving God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
There are special days in May. Good Shepherd Sunday is May 4th. Mother’s Day is May 11th and we remember all our mothers with love. Memorial Day is on May 26th, a special day formerly known as Decoration Day, commemorates all the men and women who died in military service for our country. God bless America. Ascension Day is Thursday, May 29th. There will be a special Ascension Day Service at Our Savior Lutheran Church Fair Lawn, NJ with Circuits 1 and 2 of the NJ District at 7:30 PM to celebrate Jesus’ ascension into heaven as our Prophet, Priest and King. We will be celebrating Holy Communion with Pastor Anthony Iovine and our friends and fellow believers from St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, New Milford, NJ on Sunday, May 18th here at St. Paul’s at 10:00 AM. We will be having one 10:00 AM morning service that Sunday followed by fellowship time.
The hymn we would like to share with you this month is “The King of Love My Shepherd Is”, because Good Shepherd Sunday is the first Sunday of May.
The King of Love My Shepherd Is
-
The King of love my shepherd is,
Whose goodness faileth never;
I nothing lack if I am His
And He is mine forever. -
Where streams of living water flow,
My ransomed soul He leadeth
And, where the verdant pastures grow,
With food celestial feedeth. -
Perverse and foolish oft I strayed,
But yet in love He sought me,
And on His shoulder gently laid,
And home rejoicing brought me. -
In death’s dark vale I fear no ill,
With Thee, dear Lord, beside me
Thy rod and staff my comfort still;
Thy cross before to guide me. -
Thou spreadst a table in my sight;
Thine unction grace bestoweth;
And, oh what transport of delight
From Thy pure chalice floweth! -
And so, through all the length of days,
Thy goodness faileth never.
Good Shepherd, may I sing Thy praise
Within Thy house forever.

Jesus is our King, our good Shepherd. Please read it, sing it, hum it, take in the words. They are beautiful with a strong message. Think of our beautiful stained-glass window above our altar. It s Jesus holding and protecting a lamb as He does us. Jesus, our Good Shepherd is always here for us with His love.
May we shout and sing God’s praises every day in May. We are filled with joy as we know Jesus is the King of love.
Keep your eyes, mind and hearts open to notice all the love that God has given us with His abundant blessings everyday in May and always.
Love and Blessings in our risen Lord,
